To reduce the perishability of food, YOU can:

  • Throw out and food which is rancid
  • Boil liquids to kill any existing microbes
  • Preserve food by burying it
  • Preserve food by cooling, curing or heating

Perishable foods include: meat, poultry, fish, eggs, dairy, leftovers. Non-perishable foods include: rice, flour, spices, oils, processed foods which are uncontaminated.

  • Due to location it is vulnerable to changing extreme weather
